MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
Jeanelle Dech is the president and co-founder of Adaptive Textiles, an innovative textile printing company in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She is a friendly and engaging speaker, known for her Fit-Like-A-Glove slipcover training, custom window treatment design, SPEED sewing method, and business coaching at international conferences including IWCE-VISION and The American Sewing Expo. She has served as the director of the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in North Carolina, and as an officer and national board member of the Window Coverings Association of America.
Jeff Booser is a full-time window treatment installer. He began his installation career with residential and commercial window treatments in 1990. His work with both electricians and housing contractors has provided a wide range of skills and understanding of home construction. Having recently relocated to Texas in the North Houston area, his new business JB Executive Installation, LLC is devoted to providing the clients with a professional and respectful experience. From a van designed specifically for the installation and transport of window treatments, to Jeff’s precise attention to detail and his courteous demeanor, to leaving the client’s
house in pristine condition with the addition of beautifully dressed window treatments.
Terri Booser shares 27 years of industry knowledge in the areas of window treatment design and fabrication. She has extensive experience as an educator and speaker including nine years with the Custom Home Furnishings Academy as an instructor and director. In 2017, she and business partner, Rachel Barrera, launched Sugar & Spice Draperies and Shades, LLC. They service retail and wholesale clients in the Houston area. Terri is the Construction Zone Coordinator for the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE-Vision) as well as the director of the Window Fashions Artisan Project. She is a WFCP Expert, WCAA member, and the Vice President of the Houston Area Custom Drapery Association.
Donna Cash owns Designs by Donna, a custom homegoods design and fabrication studio, opened in 1989. The studio is located in Flowery Branch, Ga., and serves the Atlanta metro area. In addition to working with wholesale and retail clients, Donna conducts private training on workroom fabrication techniques in her workroom or yours. She also presents group workshops on many workroom, design, and business topics for the home décor industry. Donna is a regular contributor to Drapery & Design Professional magazine and conducts webinars for WCAA, D&D Pro, and Rowley Company. She is a member of the Designers Workroom Council and the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA). Donna is currently president of the WCAA Atlanta Chapter.
Beth Hodges is the owner of Soft Furnishings, a retail/wholesale workroom located in Elberton, Georgia. She operated Soft Furnishings for the first eight years as a one-person retail workroom. Now in business for over almost thirty years, Soft Furnishings has expanded to employ as many as seven people and provides wholesale workroom services to higher end designers both locally and around the country.
As a well-known installation expert, Beth was employed by Cheryl Strickland to develop the first installation classes for her school in 1993 and continued as the senior installation instructor at the Custom Home Furnishings Academy until 2009. In 2014 Beth was named Education Director for DoFix USA. She presents well-received educational programs for workrooms all across the country demonstrating the time saving techniques available to them through the use of DoFix products.
Elki Horn opened Interior Elegance by Elki (located in Wayne, NJ) in 1993, after a nine-year collaboration with Calico Corners and a prior career as a dental hygienist. She is a master at workroom-designer communication. She has been a mentor to many starting workroom businesses and is passionate about sharing her methods and systems with others to increase workroom productivity and profit.

Ann K. Johnson owns Sew Easy Windows LLC, a wholesale workroom in Ohio, established in 1992. She is the author of The Professional Workroom Handbook of Swags I & II, and publisher for Kitty Stein's Price Your Work With Confidence! Ann offers private workroom training, seminars, and hands-on classes in workroom fabrication, pattern drafting, efficiency and pricing. Her topics are always fully packed with time saving tips and techniques, delivered in a relaxed and light-hearted style. Find information at seweasywindows.com. Ann is a WFCP Instructor, past instructor for CHFA, webinar instructor for WCAA & D&D Pro, and a representative for DreamDraper. She is a member of the Greater Cleveland Drapery Professionals and WCAA.
Kim Robertson Lampe has been sewing as long as she can remember. Her first experience was making her own patterns for stuffed animals, which throughout the years evolved into making her own patterns and window treatments for family and friends. After starting a family, Kim turned this love into a business called Lilla Mor Custom Sewing, specializing in valances and shades. In 2013, she joined forces with Elki Horn of Interior Elegance who took Kim's sewing to the next level. Kim is very happy to combine her love of teaching and creating, and looks forward to helping other workrooms hone their skills through the Workroom Channel.
Donna's passion for creating challenging treatments is at the heart of her 33-year-old business, Dondar Designs. As a wholesale fabricator, her specialty is creating beauty while engineering the impossible. Donna started teaching in 2000 with Cheryl Strickland. She continues sharing her knowledge through hands-on training in her workroom in Walton, KY and the development of a collection of step-by-step instructional manuals.
Cathy shares 21 years experience as a custom workroom owner and manager. She has been a featured speaker at Detroit Workroom Association meetings, WCAA events, and has been the lead instructor for the Career Professional program at the CHF Academy for the past eight years. Cathy is a master at fabricating draperies, upholstered cornices, soft cornices, and headboards. She offers private and group training through the Workroom Channel and travels the country offering her Professional Workroom Temp service, where she provides hourly expert labor to help other workrooms manage large jobs, and clear back logs.
Michele started a soft furnishings company, The Scarlet Thread, in 2000 which was dedicated to providing quality window treatments, bedding, blinds/shades, and pillows with outstanding details to homeowners and designers. In 2009, Michele saw a need for more business support in the interiors industry and began teaching business classes with an emphasis on good business practices and pricing custom work appropriately at the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in North Carolina as well as at trade shows across the United States. In 2009 Michele formed a management company with other industry professionals to manage and support the daily operations of the Custom Home Furnishings Academy. Michele served as Communications Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Drapery and Design Professional magazine from 2009-2012. She is currently a member of the Designers Workroom Council and the Window Coverings Association of America where she served as Immediate Past President of the National organization. She is also a member of Design Collective.
Julie Wood’s business, The Leading Edge Drapery LLC caters to the high-end luxury designer specializing in whole home projects. Julie is a graduate of the Interior Design Certification program at New Hampshire Institute of Art, is the President of the national board of directors of the Window Coverings Association of America. Julie believes in giving back and that includes teaching. She has participated in Building on Hope service projects, My Brother’s Keeper, and Little Dresses for Africa. Her expertise in fabrication brought her First Place in Bedding and Pillows from Window Fashion-Vision 2015, and an Artisan Project award in 2016.
